Wire and cable are used to transmit electromagnetic energy, information and wire products for electromagnetic energy conversion. Broad wire and cable are also referred to as cables. Narrow cable refers to insulated cable. It can be defined as: an assembly consisting of: Or a plurality of insulated cores, and their respective possible cladding layers, total protective layer and outer sheath. The cable may also have additional conductors without insulation.

There are many types of wire and cable, and different classification methods can be used according to their different characteristics. If the performance, structure and manufacturing process of the integrated product are similar, and combined with the use characteristics, it can be divided into five categories: bare wire, electromagnetic wire, power cable, wire and cable for electrical equipment, and communication wire and cable.

1. Electromagnetic wire: It is a coil or winding used for electric motors, electrical appliances and electrical instruments. It has realized the conversion of electromagnetic energy, also known as winding wire. According to the material, structure, heat resistance grade and use of the insulation layer, it can be divided into four categories: enameled wire, wrapped wire, inorganic insulated electromagnetic wire and special electromagnetic wire.

1 Enameled wire: It is a kind of paint film which is coated with insulating varnish on the conductive core and dried to form an insulating layer. Ordinary enameled wire can be divided into acetal, polyester, polyurethane, epoxy, polyester imide, oily enameled wire, etc. The special enameled wire has self-adhesive straight welding enameled wire, self-adhesive enameled wire, and anti-freezing enameled wire.

2 Wrapped magnet wire: Insulating paper, glass fiber, natural wire and synthetic wire are tightly wrapped around bare wire or enamel wire, and the electromagnetic wire forming the insulating layer is called wrapped electromagnetic wire. Including wire wrapped wire, glass wire covered wire, paper covered wire, film wrapped wire and so on.

3 Inorganic insulated magnetic wire: It is an electromagnetic wire made of an inorganic insulating material such as ceramic, glass film, oxide film or the like as an insulating layer.

4 Special magnet wire: It is a magnet wire with insulation structure and characteristics suitable for special occasions, such as medium and high frequency winding wires, polyethylene insulated nylon sheathed submersible motor windings, etc.

2. Bare wire: A wire that is not insulated is called a bare wire, also known as a bare conductor. It is the most basic category of wire and cable products. According to the shape and structure of the product and its use, it is divided into four series: round single wire, overhead stranded wire, soft wire and profile wire.

1 Round single wire: Also known as a round wire, it is a round single wire. From the material, there are single metal wire, round aluminum wire, round copper alloy wire, aluminum alloy wire, double metal wire, copper clad steel wire and aluminum clad steel wire. The single single wire can be used alone or as a stranded wire, and can be used as a wire and cable conductor, that is, a variety of cores

2 aerial stranded wire: a bare wire made of stranded or braided wires. The bare wire can be made into a large-section wire to transmit a large current, and is relatively soft and reliable. It is widely used in various transmission and distribution lines with voltages of 380V to 330kV and above. The main varieties are aluminum stranded wire, steel core aluminum stranded wire, aluminum alloy stranded wire, steel core aluminum alloy stranded wire, aluminum clad steel stranded wire, steel core aluminum clad steel stranded wire, expanded diameter steel aluminum stranded wire and hard copper stranded wire.
