XLPE Insulated Armoured High Voltage Power Cables

These single core or three cores cables with armoured are designed for distribution of electrical power with nominal voltage 76/132kV.

The high-voltage power cables manufactured by ZMS power cable suppliers are of standard 35kv-220kv voltage levels, such as high-voltage overhead power lines and underground power cables.

Description of ZMS High Voltage Cable Products

They are suitable for outdoor, underground, and underwater installations, as well as for power stations, wind farms, industrial, submarine transmission, and more.

The cable conductors can be made of copper or aluminum, depending on the customer`s preference or current carrying capacity.

Large-size solid conductors are made of aluminum.

Maximum Conductor Temperature In Service: (Operating temperature-continuous operation) +90 °C

Short Circuit Temperature: +250 °C

Operating Temperature: -30 °C to 90 °C

Major technical parameters (220kv and below cable)

Partial Discharge Test: No detectable discharge exceeding the declared sensitivity (5 pC or better) at 1.5 U0.

Power Frequency Voltage Test: No breakdown of the insulation or flashover at 2.5U0 for 30 min.

Non-metal Sheath DC Voltage Test: No breakdown at DC voltage 25kV for 1 min.

DC Resistance Measurement of Copper Wire Screen at 20℃: The measured value shall comply with the specification of IEC 60228:2004.


Applications

These XLPE Cable Insulated Armoured High Voltage Power Cables are designed for the distribution of electrical power with a nominal voltage of 76/132kV.

They are suitable for installation mostly in power supply stations, indoors and in cable ducts, outdoors, underground, and in water as well as for installation on cable trays for industries, switchboards, and power stations.

HV Cable Insulation XLPE has the following advantages:

1 Heat Resistance Performance

XLPE with reticulated three-dimensional structure has very excellent heat resistance performance. 

It will not decompose and carbonize below 300℃, the long-term working temperature can reach 90℃, and the thermal life can reach 40 years.

2 Insulation Performance

XLPE maintains the original good insulation characteristics of PE, and the insulation resistance is further increased.

Its dielectric loss angle tangent value is very small, and it is not greatly affected by temperature.

3 Mechanical Properties

Due to the establishment of new chemical bonds between macromolecules, the hardness, stiffness, abrasion resistance, and impact resistance of XLPE have been improved, thus making up for the shortcomings of PE which is susceptible to environmental stress and cracking.

4 Chemical Resistance Characteristics

XLPE has strong acid and alkali resistance and oil resistance, and its combustion products are mainly water and carbon dioxide, which are less harmful to the environment and meet the requirements of modern fire safety.
