Mineral Insulated Flexible High Temperature Cable MICC Series Excellent Shielding Property.

MICC cables ( Mineral insulated cables) are also named Mineral Insulated Copper-Clad Cables.

It is a kind of cable with a copper sheath wrapped copper conductor core, and magnesium oxide powder as inorganic insulation material to isolate the conductor and sheath, the outermost layer can choose the appropriate material protection jacket as required, to suit the occasion, and the sheath is generally made of low smoke and halogen-free material. Commonly known as MICC or MI cable.

There is a similar cable to metal instead of copper sheath-wrapped core and insulation materials, known as mineral insulated metal sheath cable. (Mineral insulated metal sheathed cable (MIMS Cable)).


Structure Of Mineral Insulated Cable

Conductor: The conductor is made of the first high-quality annealed copper in accordance with GB/T3956.

Insulation layer (magnesium oxide): High temperature resistant, non-combustible inorganic magnesium oxide powder.

Metal sheath: Use high-quality annealed copper as the sheath.

An outer protective layer (optional): when there are requirements for corrosion protection, identification, or aesthetics, a plastic coat can be used (a halogen-free low-smoke coat is recommended).

Standard: GB/T34926; IEC60702; BS6387:1994; GB/T13033.1.2-2007, etc.

Rated Voltage: 500V-750V

Core: 1, 2,  3, 4, 7, 12, 19

Section(mm²): 1.0~4.0, 1~400 or 1~25

Micc Cable Sizes

The structure can be divided into two kinds of rigid mineral cable and flexible mineral cable.

BTTZ rigid cable type

BTTZ is the abbreviation of mineral insulated cable, also known as fire resistant cable, but fire resistant cable is two completely different concepts.

BTTZ's full name is copper core copper sheath magnesium oxide insulated heavy-duty fireproof cable, also known as heavy-duty mineral insulated cable.

The conductor is a new type of cable composed of a single-strand copper rod, the middle is filled with magnesium oxide crystal powder as insulation material, and the outer layer is sheathed with a seamless copper tube.

MICC Cable Conductor's cross-sectional area of 25 square millimeters or more is single-core.

It is a kind of vitrified polyolefin insulated fireproof cable, which can be developed according to the demand of the new fireproof cable with a maximum fire resistance temperature of 1500℃.

Fire resistance performance: 1kV 950℃ 180min

Cable conductor: made of multi-strand copper wire crossed with good bending characteristics.

Insulation layer: mineral insulation material with ceramic mica tape + ceramic polyolefin insulation, withstanding temperatures up to 1000℃ or more.

Waterproof isolation layer: using polyethylene isolation material.

Mineral filling layer: Inorganic mineral oxygen barrier fireproof material developed by the latest nanotechnology at home and abroad.

Outer sheath: Adopt low smoke non-toxic or better and higher plastic-type material with good anti-corrosion properties.

You can choose the material without a model according to the requirement.

BBTRZ flexible mineral insulated cable

It is the improved model of BTTZ mineral insulated copper cable which can keep normally energized without being broken within 180 minutes under the high-temperature environment of 950℃ flame through 1KV voltage.

And it inherits the characteristics of BTTZ rigid mineral insulated cable such as fireproof, explosion-proof, temperature resistant, and high current carrying capacity, but also not easy to absorb moisture and more stable insulation performance.

It can be produced in fixed length with multiple cores, flexible structure, easy to bend, no need for special cable terminal joints and intermediate joints, suitable for various laying methods, and can be laid according to conventional cables.


1 High electrical performance load capacity

Under the same conditions, BBTRZ cable has a higher load capacity, the rated load capacity of its conductor working temperature is 90 ℃.

2 Safety insulation is good

BBTRZ cable uses inorganic non-metallic materials for insulation and sheathing, with a multi-layer insulation protection structure, fireproof and waterproof at the same time, so the insulation performance is excellent.

3 Energy saving

BBTRZ cable due to inorganic non-metallic insulation and sheath structure, only three main wires to the grounding wire of the tiny capacitive current, the value of which is in the level of a few to a dozen milliamps, basically negligible.

4 Easy to construct

BBTRZ cable is flexible, with a minimum bending radius of 6D, thus the construction is very easy, effective, and reliable.


①Copper Terminal Lugs and Aluminum Terminal Lugs


It is mainly for the cable and electrical equipment system to play a connection and protection role of the connection piece. 

Cable lugs are widely used in the electrical industry, machinery and equipment plants, shipyards, power distribution cabinets distribution boxes, etc.

MICC Cable Termination


The diagram includes not only common cable terminations but also cable glands.

A complete termination is installed at the end of a mineral-insulated cable.

It usually includes a cover and a stuffing box or a combined end/stuffing box.

One termination is required for each cable.

③Intermediate Connector Accessories

When the cable is not long enough, it is necessary to use an intermediate connector attachment link.

It is a device that connects two cables of the same size into one cable.

The cable does not need, heat shrink tubing, an intermediate connection terminal, or a fireproof porcelain post.

④Terminal Blocks

Used to connect conductors to control cabinet terminals or power supplies.

It consists of a compression nut, a compression bevel block, and a terminal body.

There are two types of terminal blocks.

One is the crimp-type terminal block, which is suitable for connecting cables of 35mm2 or more.

The second is the crimp-type terminal block, suitable for connecting 6-25mm2 cables.

Small-size cables of 4mm2 and below can be used without terminal blocks.
