Submarine power cable is a major transmission cable for carrying electric power below the surface of the water.it is also possible to use submarine power cables beneath fresh water.
|System voltage:||up to500kV|
|Conductor:||Circularstranded copper conductor constructed of round or profiled wires.|
|MetallicScreen:||30kV≤U≤66kV:Copper wire, lead alloy sheath|
|U≥110kV:Lead alloy sheath|
|Radial water barrier:||Semi-drydesign: Laminated aluminum foil|
|Drydesign: Lead alloy sheath|
|Armor:||Three-core:Galvanized steel wire|
|Single-core:Magnetic galvanized steel wire; Non-magnetic HD copper wire,stainless steelwire|
|Armor bedding serving:||Polypropyleneroving|
Our submarine cables are used in areas such as the transmission of electricity generated using offshore wind power generating facilities, which is attracting attention as power transmission to remote islands that have aging power generation facilities and as a renewable energy source.
Furukawa Electric is delivering submarine cables to many countries throughout the world including Japan, thereby contributing to regional power transmission,
ZMS has the capability to manufacture long continuous length HVAC submarine cables without factory splices with the state-of-the-art VCV lines and vertical assembly lines and store the long length complete submarine cables with two big outdoor turntables to deliver in one segment without necessity of using offshore joint. Moreover, the rather short length (80m) for cable loading out to the vessel calling at the wharf greatly reduces the risk during the process.
CIGRE recommendations: CIGRE 496, CIGRE 623.
Types & Purposes
●For offshore wind farm
-Export cable to transport the total generated power from offshore substation to onshore substation
-Interconnecting grids of countries
-Power supply from mainland to isolated islands
By supplying underground power transmission cables that support the supply of electricity in metropolitan areas, we are contributing to the maintenance of infrastructure in various countries around the world including Japan.
Furukawa Electric’s ultra high voltage underground power transmission cable has contributed to the development of the underground power transmission network from Japan’s era of high speed economic growth to the present. It has also played a part in a 500 kV power transmission line project, which was the first construction in the world, and that technological capability has been highly acclaimed.
